In harrowing and unimaginable scenes, the bodies of martyrs were scattered around the area after being torn apart by Israeli occupation rockets and set ablaze. This made it impossible for rescue and civil defense teams to recover or identify them. The horrific “Dawn Massacre,” perpetrated by the occupation forces early Saturday at the Al-Tabeen School, which shelters thousands of displaced individuals in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, has caused widespread shock and outrage on social media due to its scale and brutality.
Photos and videos released by the media depict disturbing scenes of children, youth, and the elderly whose features were obliterated by severe burns, their bodies turned into charred remains due to the intensity of the bombardment.
Distressing Details
Ten-year-old Omar Al-Jabri recounts to “Safa” news agency, “I woke up at dawn to the sound of an explosion and flames, which ignited my clothes and burned my body.” He adds, “We walked over rubble and debris until we reached an ambulance that took me to the Baptist Hospital.”
Citizen Abdul Karim Al-Jabri tells “Safa” with deep sorrow, “At the time of the Fajr prayer, the prayer hall was bombed in a brutal and severe manner, and seven members of my family were martyred while praying.” He continues with tears, “They were peaceful people in a safe area and at prayer time. My sister was on the second floor with the women, and due to the bombing, she suffered burns, her son was critically injured with head wounds, and her daughter was martyred.”
Among the most traumatic and horrifying scenes encountered by doctors at the Baptist Hospital following the Al-Tabeen massacre, Hospital Director Fadl Naeem describes, “We received a 16-year-old boy whose lower body was shattered, his left hand was amputated, with deep wounds and burns all over his body.” He adds on his “X” account, “During emergency surgery, I was shocked to find another person’s head crushed between his shattered leg bones. I could only identify him by his mouth and chin. It was a scene beyond the endurance of the heart and mind.”
Naeem continues, “Despite all our efforts to save him, he passed away on the operating table after severe, uncontrollable bleeding.” He notes that many critically injured patients are now lying in the hospital corridors, and with each passing moment, another life is lost. “Unfortunately, many of the injuries from the Al-Tabeen massacre involved severe burns and amputations,” he explains, adding that some victims died on the operating tables due to a lack of medical supplies.
Deliberate Massacres
Palestinian and Arab activists have reacted on social media, trending the hashtag “#Dawn_Massacre” on “X” to condemn the atrocity committed by the occupation forces at Al-Tabeen School during the Fajr prayer, which resulted in about 100 martyrs and various injuries.
Writer Yasser Al-Zaatreh tweets on “X,” “The invading army, confident in the official Arab silence and reduced international condemnations with full American support, continues to shed innocent blood, always with the same despicable justification.” He adds, “An Israeli journalist summarized it by saying Netanyahu’s standards now accept the killing of a hundred children, women, and innocents for the sake of a news report about killing someone from Hamas, whether from the military or civilian branches.”
He continues, “The truth is that these are deliberate massacres with a clear aim: to force our people to surrender and abandon resistance.” He asserts, “It is a shame, indeed a grave crime, that these blood and remains do not provoke any genuine action from the official Arab regimes to press the invaders and their supporters to end the ongoing genocide.”
Activist Ayat Arabi tweets, “Another horrific massacre committed by the criminal Zionist army at Al-Tabeen School in the Al-Daraj neighborhood during Fajr prayer, a crime beyond crime.” She adds, “As I previously said, those who are assured of impunity misbehave, and Netanyahu knows very well that he is surrounded by treacherous rulers who support him and suppress their people to protect him and his rogue state.”
Khalil Al-Anani writes, “Another Zionist massacre during Fajr prayer kills at least 100 people, and the blood of these innocents is on the hands of Biden, Blinken, Kirby, and their Arab accomplices.”
Activist Murtada Faraj tweets, “The Al-Tabeen School massacre in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza, where blood was shed during Fajr prayer, is horrifying and very painful.” He adds, “This blood means nothing to the West, but we will see divine and earthly revenge, and the scales will tip in favor of the oppressed soon.”
Kuwaiti preacher Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Nafis tweets, “More than 100 martyrs in a massacre targeting displaced people in a school during Fajr prayer, slaughtered while they are in the hands of Allah, with no regard for religion, tradition, or law. The oppressive world witnesses this killing and ignores it.”
